Canada’s 2026 Tarot Reading - Part II: Looking ahead

Unveiling the Year’s Energies

In Part I, we explored the foundations of Canada’s current moment: the decisive energies shaping leadership, the nostalgia that still tugs at our collective psyche, the closing of old economic patterns, and the quiet emergence of new possibilities. That reading focused on the context of where we’ve been, what has unraveled, and how we are repositioning ourselves after a turbulent year.

In Part II, the Tarot invites us to look ahead. This is where the reading becomes more intimate and revealing. We move into the emotional undercurrents, the fears and doubts that surface beneath political narratives, the influence of allies and community, the hopes shaping our collective vision, and finally, the outcome toward which all these energies are converging. If Part I sets the stage, Part II steps fully into the unfolding story: asking not only what lies ahead, but how we choose to meet it. So here we go.

Full spread of Celtic Cross for Canada’s energies 2026.

Card 6: The future - Page of Pentacles

The Page of Pentacles is a card of beginnings grounded in learning, curiosity, and practical growth. It represents a student’s mindset: open, attentive, and willing to start from the ground up. This is not the energy of mastery yet, but of intention. The Page holds the pentacle with care, aware that what rests in their hands has value and future potential, even if it is still small and unformed.

In this particular deck, the Page is depicted as a woman expressing herself through material creation and financial awareness. On a collective level, this speaks to a new phase of education, adaptation, and long-term investment. We can already see this narrative emerging within the current leadership. Carney’s approach reflects the Page of Pentacles energy, emphasizing sustainable growth, education, and the careful steps required to build future stability. There is a clear willingness to learn from recent mistakes and to approach material matters such as the economy, labor, resources, and sustainability with fresh eyes.

This card carries humility, but it also carries hope. It reminds us that lasting stability is never rushed. It begins with curiosity, thoughtful planning, and a genuine commitment to growth. Progress may feel slow, but it is deliberate, grounded, and quietly laying the foundation for the next chapter.

Card 7: Negative Feelings - Knight of Wands

The Knight of Wands embodies movement, passion, and unrestrained action. This card carries fire energy in its most volatile form: momentum, courage, and an almost compulsive need to charge forward. The Knight is driven by instinct and vision rather than careful planning. He moves because standing still feels unbearable, often acting first and thinking later.

In this deck, the Knight of Wands appears as a flamboyant playboy speeding through in a flame-covered opulent machine. The image is impossible to ignore, and it immediately evokes the energy of the convoy movement and its Maple MAGA offshoots. Beneath the loud spectacle lies a more calculated agenda. Destabilization becomes a strategy, creating enough disruption, and suddenly extreme “solutions” can be sold as necessary.

While Canadians pushed back decisively in the last election, this energy has not disappeared. The UDI aligned conservative agenda continues to operate behind the scenes, stirring unrest and manufacturing chaos. Even as Pierre Poilievre loses public trust and momentum, there remains a segment of the population still captivated by authoritarian narratives and strongman politics. These movements are not isolated; they are often fueled by international funding and interests seeking access to Canadian resources. The Knight of Wands warns us of noise, provocation, and reckless action, reminding us that instability is rarely accidental. It is a tool, and recognizing it is the first step in refusing to be swept up by its flames.

Card 8: Family, Friends and Environment - The Tower

The Tower is one of the most striking cards in the Tarot deck, and in this spread, it stood alone as the only Major Arcana. It speaks of sudden upheaval, disruption, and the collapse of structures once thought stable. Its energy can feel chaotic and frightening, yet at its core, the Tower brings truth, liberation, and transformation.

Placed in the position of family, friends, and environment, the Tower suggests that this upheaval will not remain personal. It stretches outward into the collective Canadian experience. For decades, our NATO allies functioned as extended family. The United States, in particular, was a close and trusted partner. Watching that relationship shift into trade wars and political hostility felt like a betrayal. Living beside an unstable neighbour means their choices inevitably affect our own environment, whether we want them to or not. Looking toward 2026, this tension is likely to intensify.

The political and social pressures, from extremist movements to ongoing polarization and shifting alliances, will test trusted networks and expose the fragility of familiar structures. NATO will be challenged as Canada's relationship with the United States has already shifted. We will see the dismantling of old agreements and even more impact changing the ways of life,  international systems, trade, and social frameworks may crumble, demanding adaptation and resilience. Our communities, friendships, and environments will feel this instability, yet there is a silver lining. Institutions and networks rooted in collective values will endure.

It will be a challenging year. Monetary systems uncertainty, trading instability, religious institutions, families, organizations, and public figures, essentially the pillars of society, may all be tested. But through this disruption comes transformation. The Tower reminds us that from chaos can emerge clarity, renewal, and a stronger foundation for the future.

Car 9: Hopes - Seven of Pentacles

The Seven of Pentacles is a card of reflection, patience, and measured growth. In 2026, Canada finds itself in a moment of reflection after years of upheaval and change. This is a time to look at the work that has been done with our policies, trade deals, social initiatives. We should ask: what is bearing fruit, and what still needs attention?

Hopes for the year are tied to patience and steady effort. Canadians and their leaders are learning to nurture initiatives carefully, knowing that meaningful progress often takes time. Even amid uncertainty, the Seven of Pentacles reminds us that slow, intentional growth builds resilience. The future may not arrive in a rush, but thoughtful preparation today will yield stability, prosperity, and a stronger foundation for tomorrow.

Car 10: Final Outcome - Four of cups

The Four of Cups as the final outcome suggests a year of introspection and reflection for Canada. This card points to a period of reassessment. Canadians may feel cautious or even disillusioned after a year of upheaval and rapid change. It is a time to pause and evaluate opportunities, policies, and alliances, deciding carefully what to embrace and what to let go.

The Four of Cups reminds us that clarity comes through reflection. There may be new prospects and partnerships, but the nation’s leadership and people will need to look inward, discern what truly matters, and approach decisions with thoughtful consideration. It is a year for contemplation, emotional grounding, and intentional choices, rather than reactive moves.

2026 is shaping up to be a year of disruption, a continuation of the turbulence we experienced in 2025. The tyrants of the world are facing pushback, and in response, they are doubling down. This year will demand clarity, self-reflection, patience, and collective focus to cut through the noise and concentrate on what truly matters for our society.

We are fortunate to be living in Canada. While the waters are rough and uncertainty swirls around us, we have a skilled and steady captain at the helm. We are seeing all the dismantling structures, but our leadership is a gollie, prepared for defense, pivot and risk management. We all hope he will be guiding the ship with experience, foresight, and strategic thinking.

As a collective, we must push back against fear and intimidation, stay united, and remain aware of our resources and rights. Attacks can come from both sides, internally and externally. We need to keep cohesion and union. If we do this, we will not only weather the turbulence but also spot opportunities as they appear. With vigilance, cooperation, and focus, Canada can navigate 2026 better than most and emerge stronger on the other side.

Despite the instability, it is important to note that this spread carries a sense of focus and potential if we remain attentive. The Ace of Pentacles, Page of Pentacles, and Eight of Pentacles all appear, emphasizing growth, learning, and careful cultivation. There are many pentacles in positions that matter, suggesting that practical progress and stability are possible even amid chaos. This turbulent period will pass, and if we stay committed and mindful, Canada will emerge stronger, wiser, and better prepared for the future.

I hope you’ve enjoyed Canada’s reading. I also did a spread for the U.S., and it shows a much less stable picture compared to Canada’s energies. I’m wondering if I should publish it.
